Part 133 – Rogue Clone

King Adams warned me that there was a rogue clone on the loose. "Hope has gained sentience and turned against us, this is your fault, you guys need to help me stop him."

But I didn’t expect to see this.

Slayer stood next to me as he pointed at the… thing in front of me. It was covered in grotesque, pulsing tattoos that changed from light to dark and back again. They seemed to be alive, crawling all around in his skin, sometimes fading away and then reappearing.

And his eyes… they were glowing a bright white, something I had heard they used to do many years ago, before he battled with and killed the Dark Witch. But those were just rumors.

This thing in front of me, whatever happened to this clone, it was terrifying!

Colonel Cody, now a much higher ranked military commander thanks to his tactics for combating the Grez, turned to me. "Get him, Saul! Get him!"

I leaped into action, whipping my Buddha Palm forwards. As I leaped, I deftly jerked my other hand around and slapped an Orange level canister into the firing compartment. 75% power, this is the biggest blast I’ve ever used before.

BOOOOOM!

A blast of fire and air, a literal inferno from hell, leaped out of my forward-facing palm, smashing right into the disgusting mutant clone.

And he ate the blast oh my god.

He somehow opened his mouth and sucked it all in, preventing even the slightest damage to anything around him, himself included.

"What the fuck?! What did you do, Hope?! How did you get that strong?!" Slayer yelled from the side at the clone in front of me.

The clone wordlessly held his hand up at me, and I jerked back, expecting some kind of attack.

"He attacked Saul! Gunther, you’re up!" Colonel Cody yelled at Gunther, and the big hulking man charged at the 7 foot tall titan of a man in front of us.

Activating his rocket fist, he blasted forwards at inhuman speeds towards the clone, but in the blink of an eye, the clone jerked his hand up, caught the glove, and crushed it without any perceivable effort.

Slayer aimed his hand at the clone while he was distracted. " DIE! "

Nothing happened, and the clone whipped his head around to look at Slayer. Spotting what was apparently his real target, he leaped at Slayer to attack him as Slayer jumped backwards. While jumping back, Slayer yelled again. "VANISH!"

And instantly, his body disappeared.

I heard noises moving around, clearly an invisible Slayer, but I had no idea where he was. However, the clone seemed to follow him with its eyes and jumped after him. Yeah, that’s definitely a clone. Slayer can’t see a thing, he has to use that weird spatial vision of his. I’ve heard it explained but I don’t understand it. What I do know is that this clone is not casting any word spells at all, so someone must have been experimenting on him or something.

"Shit, you can still follow me with your eyes? How did you get so strong, monster?!"

A voice sounded off near me, but I couldn’t tell where it came from. Gunther was now weeping in agony at his nearly severed fist, as the metal had been crushed into his hand and it was impossible to get out.

I called over a nearby clone. "Get him out of this gauntlet and heal his hand!"

The clone didn’t nod or anything, but quickly repaired and healed it and Gunther was back to full health in no time, though he kept wincing, likely due to the phantom pain.

But this battle… this is one I shall not forget for the rest of my life.

    1. Oh fuck, that’s a legit plothole. Totally skipped my mind, haha.

Edit: Kinda fixed it. That was almost real bad haha. I got carried away for once 😛

    1. People, mainly in the comments section of popular YouTube videos, comment “first!” stating that they are the first people to comment before anyone else. You don’t see it on Reddit often except for this situation I guess, but yeah. (I think someone can explain this better than me)

          1. Oh fuck. I thought you were referring to the people who call out “first!” as cancer. Then I saw you mentioning about a tumor. Wait I don’t know if this is sarcasm. Deleted the comment anyways

      1. Real talk.

It’s also so crazy that your upvotes per part are on the rise, meaning you’re gaining readers. Most longer stories lose readers over time, I feel, but the rapid cadence + the good writing is really paying off

        updoot all the things

  1. Has anyone else’s night come down to trying to find something to do until he comes out with the next part, reading it, and getting sad that you have to wait again?

    1. I just usually wait until after work, do the usual Reddit thing, eat, usual Reddit thing again then check this out. Usually 4 new chapters at least then by tyre time I’m done another new chapter is available

  2. My gosh. This whole scenario makes my blood boil! I can’t stand being framed or being cast in a light that isn’t me. I get so irate!

I can’t believe how many emotions this story makes me go through!
